OVERVIEW
Throughout the course, you will earn points for both assignments and exams. You will see your final grade on Canvas after your last assignment has been graded, which is usually the last exam. The grade scheme for your class is points-based and can be found on the ECC course syllabus that has been uploaded on to the Canvas syllabus page.
Please complete ALL COURSEWORK on time so that you can earn the highest grade possible. Late work is not accepted on this class. If an assignment is missed, it is highly unlikely to affect your grade as long as this is not repeated.

- Exams are very important to your grade and will be auto-scored by the Canvas system.
- You can find study guides here.
- You are given 90 minutes per exam which is more than enough time for a well-prepared student.
- Multiple choice questions that correspond with the topics listed on the study guide for your course. If you study using the study guide, you should do quite well.
- Once you start the exam you must finish it during that sitting (no leaving the exam and coming back).
- I use the "8-UP" rule. If your final percentage ends in an "8," for example, 78% ("C"), I will ROUND THAT UP to 80% ("B").
- "End of semester grade groveling" is highly discouraged.
GRADING RUBRICS
A rubric is a scoring tool that assesses and articulates specific components and expectations for an assignment. This also ensures that assignments are graded fairly and transparently. Please refer to the instructions that are specific to each assignment type and be mindful of how you will be graded.
EVALUATE YOUR OWN WORK
By referring to the rubric each time you submit an assignment, you will be sure what components are necessary to earn the highest score possible. For example, there are no other components involved with video or visual submissions, however, narrative and audio submissions do involve either reading or listening to other students' posts.
